My final day on the road started with two very important meetings.
First, I met a giant pink elephant wearing glasses. I’m not saying we’re related, but we’re both highly photogenic and known for standing around while people take pictures of us.
Then I stopped to visit Sissy the Cow outside a Wisconsin cheese shop. As soon as she found out I was from Illinois, she launched into a 20-minute presentation on cheese. I tried to explain that I’m a ram, not a dairy expert, but by then she had already assigned me homework.
After that, it was time to head home.
Ten days ago, I left Abbott as a simple school mascot. Today, I return as an experienced traveler, cave explorer, butterfly negotiator, zoo enthusiast, historical scholar, tower climber, and unofficial inspector of giant roadside objects.
I made it safely back to Waukegan, so beginning immediately, I will resume my important duties:
Supervising the main office, judging everyone’s hallway walking speed, looking busy when parents visit, and making sure it remains a great day to be a RAM!
Thank you for following my road trip adventures. My hooves are tired, my suitcase is full of souvenirs, and I still have absolutely no explanation for why every Midwestern town has a giant statue of something.
See you back at Abbott, Ramily.
